Transition and Transformation

The majority of the world’s leading scientists tell us that we are rapidly running out of time to take decisive action on global climate change. Yet governments are acting as if we have decades to transform our unsustainable use of resources to renewable and sustainable systems.

We are all responsible for our climate, so each and every one of us must take responsibility; whether at the individual, community, company, institution, state, or national level. A change is required leading to a transformation of our culture and society.

The GREENhouse program includes scientists, authors, intellectuals, environmentalists, inventors and a senator/spokesperson on Climate Change. All have the knowledge and the imagination to guide us along the path to transforming our society: to turn this crisis into an opportunity for change, beneficial to all.

In Copenhagen, December this year world leaders sit down to formulate the global response to climate change. We are fortunate to have amongst our speakers several who will have attended this United Nations - Climate Change Conference.

We have left a heavy burden for the next generation and so the GREENhouse has provided a voice for young people. These representatives of their generation will inspire us with their ideas and stories, which offer hope for a more sustainable future.

Our business community is becoming serious about climate change and increasingly we are hearing that many corporations are not waiting for the government to legislate. Hear from those who work with the corporate world of companies addressing long-term social challenges and taking steps to lower their carbon emissions; right now!

Who’s driving your driving future? What is the future of electric vehicles? With new innovative design our cities can be for people instead of cars by using public transport, cycleways and pedestrian paths.

Learn how supporting locally grown food and growing your own at home will save carbon emissions. Our next generation are already learning about growing food in their school gardens.

The next ten years are crucial for transition to a new low carbon economy which can lead to transformation of our very way of life. As this festival ends we will enter what can be the Transition Decade. Making these transitions will determine our future.

We CAN rise to this challenge!
